Today Davide Formolo will start his season at the Trofeo Andratx - Mirador d'Es Colomer. The Cannondale rider is confident for his debut.

"At the end of November, I started to train seriously and I arrive here with 5000km in my legs and the desire to do well," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But the goal is also to improve the condition for Tirreno-Adriatico. This is a difficult race with the final climb: I love it.  Let's see if I can do something good."

The race finishes at the top of a 3.5km climb with an average gradient of around 6%. Alejandro Valverde is the big favourite to win in a finale that he last conquered in 2005.
