The International Cycling Union (UCI) has announced a four-year ban for French rider Lloyd Mondory for testing positive for EPO while riding for AG2R La Mondiale.
In March, the UCI announced the temporary suspension of Mondory after an adverse analytical finding for EPO in a sample collected in an out-of-competition control on February 17. Now, the UCI Anti-Doping Tribunal has found the Frenchman "guilty of a doping violation and and given him a penalty of four years.
Due to his fast sprint, Mondory has achieved a few victories, most recently in the 2014 Vuelta a Burgos, and good results in the cobbled classics, with a third place in the 2006 Dwars door Vlaanderen and a fifth place in the 2011 Ghent-Wevelgem. This year he was seventh in the Clasica Almería and did the Strade Bianche after a bad crash in the Vuelta had ended his 2014 season. Mondory spent his entire career at AG2R La Mondiale, from 2004 to2015.
