Francesco Chicchi will ride for Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela in 2015. His debut will be at the Omloop Het Niewsblad on February 28. According to Tuttobiciweb, he is still motivated and he hopes to win again even if he was going to retire.
"I would be very sorry to retire at the age of 34. I think I still have something to show. With Androni Giocattoli, every race counts and I hope to win as much as possible", he explained. "Begin by the end of February to Het Nieuwsblad, to find the rhythm of the race for the Tour de Langkawi, which will be my first goal of the season. In Malaysia I hope to be already competitive."
"My motivation is very strong. I have a rage inside me that I felt for some time, a new determination, a determination inredibile. I feel like a kid in the first year as a professional, I really want to do and so much to do well."
The Italian sprinter rode for Neri Sottoli / Vini Fantini in 2013 and 2014 after passing through Fassa Bortolo (2003-2005), Quick Step (2006), Liquigas (2007-2010) and Quick Step / Omega Pharma (2011-2012). Chicchi was U23 World Champion in 2002 and also has stage wins in the Tour Down Under, Volta a Catalunya, Tour of Denmark and Tour de Langkawi on his palmares.
