Frank Schleck is currently competing at the Tour of Utah in order to improve his shape to be at the top during the third three-week race: the Vuelta a Espana. The Trek Factory Racing rider has endured many injuries and now, he is really motivated to do a great performance in Spain.

He admits that not racing the Tour de France was too difficult for him. "Not riding in the Tour. I have to admit, it was difficult. When things happen, it’s tough not to be there. But I want to go back to the Tour. I think the last time I did it, I was 11th [actually 12th]. I lost eight minutes in a crash and I would have been in the top 10, and I think I would still be able to do that."

Frank Schleck won two Tour de France stage and six finishes dating back to 2006. 

His best general classification results is a third place in 2011. He has also three top-10 finishes. He added according to Velonews he is always in communication with his brother. "We have always been very close. We were not only teammates. We are best friends. We have the same hobbies. We like to go fishing. We hang out together a lot. We do holidays together with our families. The bond is still there. Cycling was one part of it, yes. But there is more than just riding a bike."

When Velonews ask how is his brother, he answered with smile: "He’s getting lazy and fat."
