Tour de France winner Chris Froome (Sky) is in the process of writing his autobiography. Entitled “The Climb” the book recounts the inspiring story of Chris Froome’s path from his Kenya childhood to his unforgettable conquest of the yellow jersey in the Tour de France this year.
On a trip like no other in the history of cycling, Froome crossed continents, overcame the death of his mother and a disease to follow his dreams and represent Great Britain and Team Sky. He has experienced triumphs, defeats, a public feud with Bradley Wiggins and, more recently, felt the ever present pressure from Lance Armstrong's tarnished legacy.
“The Climb” is a story of determination, hardship and unimaginable success. The book is written in collaboration with renowned author David Walsh.
"Many people have come to know my name through my achievements in the last year, but I feel like not many people really know how I am and I hope this book will give people some knowledge about me and my journey and all the obstacles in my quest to go to the top, and inspire them to keep going despite the challenges they face in achieving their own goals," Froome says on his website.
The Froome autobiography, set to be published shortly before the Tour de France Grande Depart in Yorkshire next year, comes at a relatively early stage in Froome’s career and is surely meant to milk the occasion of the Tour starting on British soil and as a predecessor for a sequel.
