The winner of 100th Tour de France edition, Christopher Froome of Sky Procycling team made a shortlist of BBC Sports Personality of the Year award alongside nine other personalities of British sport.
Last year, as a result of remarkable Olympic success, three cyclist made the short-list: Sir Bradley Wiggins, Chris Hoy and Sarah Storey.
Although last two editions of a prestigious plebiscite were won by professional cyclists: Mark Cavendish in 2011 and Bradley Wiggins in 2012, it is rather unlikely for Chris Froome to make chat-trick despite his convincing victory in the greatest among the Grand Tours and he enters the final competition as an outsider.
The overwhelming favourite for the 2013 BBC SPOTY title is Scotland's Andy Murray who became the first British tennis player to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry in 1936.
The public vote for the favourite takes place on 15 December.
