In the next 7 to 10 days, the world will know if two-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome of Team Sky will try to win another Grand Tour in 2015 when he will decide to line-up at the Vuelta a Espana or not.
“The Vuelta?” I’ll still give it a week to ten days to decide,” he told L’Equipe. “And I’ll also look at it with the team.”
Froome has been second in the event twice: to Juan Jose Cobo in 2011 and to Alberto Contador last year.
Other big names confirmed for the Vuelta are Rodriguez, Valverde, Quintana, Nibali, Aru and Landa.
Froome says if he does ride he knows how hard it will be to win the Vuelta overall after a demanding Tour and just 27 days between the Tour’s end and Vuelta’s start.
“I know it would be a massive challenge to back it up with another grand tour now,” Froome said after the Tour in July, “especially to go with the aim of going for the general classification again.”
