"My preferred time trial distance is much longer. Prologues are for specialists. There is a 35km time trial next Sunday, but first we have to cross the mountains to get there."

Those were the words of Kazakh champion Daniil Fominykh (Astana) after the prologue opening stage at the Tour de Suisse. Fominykh finished 26 seconds behind stage winner Tom Dumoulin of the Netherlands. Teammate Jakob Fuglsang was Astana's highest-placed finisher and will lead the team over the mountains in the next week.
