Those were the words of Astana's Jakob Fuglsang after the Canadian one-day World Tour race, Grand Prix de Québec. Fuglsang followed a late and active attack by Rein Taaramäe on the 12.6km hilly circuit along the Saint-Laurent river, and slipped into a 2-man breakaway with a Wilco Kelderman to create a gap of nearly 20 seconds before the whole peloton came together at the base of two short and steep hills in the final 4km.

Early team tactics for Borut Božič to wait for a sprint with Alexey Lutsenko began once Fuglsang and Taaramäe had exhausted their options, but in the end Rigoberto Uran of Colombia slipped away from the peloton by a few meters to win the slightly uphill sprint.

Riders travel on Saturday to Montréal for the second and final Grand Prix of the Canadian weekend.
