Despite a delicate season in terms of results and three doping cases revealed at the end of the season, Funvic Soul Cycles-Carrefour has received confirmation from the Union Cycliste Internationale that it has received the green light from the Licensing Commission to obtain a pro continental license. It is a real relief for Benedito Tadeu Junior and his team two days after the UCI announced the team's 55-day suspension for the three doping cases in less than 12 months.
With the announcement, the Brazilian team will continue at the level it joined at the beginning of 2016 when the suspension expires on February 13. In a press release, the team has announced that they already have confirmation of their participation in three foreign races.
In 2017, they will be led by Portuguese climber Daniel Silva and Spanish puncheur Jordi Simon.
