John Gadret (Movistar Team) will continue his career in 2016 and has found a team. However, he will no longer be riding on the road as he will be part of Steve Chainel’s cyclo-cross team known as Cross Team by G4.
The Cross Team by G4, which is the first French cyclo-crossteam, announced the signing if Gadret yesterday. He will join Chainel and his wife, Lucie Chainel-Lefevre. "I am happy to meet my friend at the Cross Team by G4 from January 1, 2016. I return to my first love," tweeted Gadret.
The French rider was national champion in 2004 and 2006 and has been in the top 10 at the Worlds twice. He has always maintained his passion for mud every winter. On the road, he reached his highlight with a stage win and third place in the 2011 Giro d'Italia (after the disqualification of Alberto Contador). However, he did not shine in the last two seasons in the Movistar Team who did not renew his contract.
Now he starts a new adventure with Chainel with whom he rode at AG2R in 2013 and who left Cofidis this year to focus on creating his own cyclo-cross team. The pair share their love and passion for winter cycling.
Gadret has previously ridden for Chocolade Jacques (2004), Jartazi (2005), AG2R (2006-2013) and Movistar Team (2014-2015).
