Don't change a program that works. Satisfied with his 2015 season, Tony Gallopin will have a similar schedule next season. With the ambition of winning a monument and shine in the big French races, the rider of Lotto Soudal unveils his program.
"Like in 2015, I will start at the Grand Prix La Marseillaise before going to Bessèges and then do the Volta ao Algarve," he tells Cyclingpro-net. "Then it will be Paris-Nice, Milan-San Remo which is close to my heart. Later I will do the Tour of the Basque Country to prepare for the Ardennes classics. I considered doing the Volta a Catalunya but finally I will stick to the idea of the Basque Country. Last year, it was a good experience so I keep this program to try try to improve."
The Frenchman will then go to the Critérium du Dauphiné and the French Championships to prepare for the Tour de France, always with an eye on the Olympics. The only probable change to his schedule compared to 2015 is a possible participation in the Vuelta instead of the Canadian classics.
"I could do the Tour-Vuelta double but at the same time I also like the Canadian classics. It is not yet defined, I'll see in the second part of the season."
