Garmin-Sharp brings a strong team to Argentina, with high ambitions. The team is seeking for GC result, as well as sprint stages with Tyler Farrar, team director Chann McRae tells Cyclingnews.

The team brings two riders with GC possibility, Janier Acevedo and Tom Danielson. "We definitely don't want to go away from here without either Janier or Tommy D on the podium." says McRae.

Acevedo, who was 1st in UCI American Tour last year, is a new recruit for Garmin-Sharp team. As a Colombian, 28-year-old Acevedo naturally possesses climbing ability, which lead to a series of performance in 2013, including 3rd in Tour of California and Tour of Utah, as well as 4th in USA Pro Challenge.

Danielson, a seasoned veteran climber, also showed some brilliance in 2013, however in both Giro and Tour Danielson was disappointing. Danielson won Tour of Utah 2013 ahead of Chris Horner, the later subsequently won Vuelta a Espana.

Garmin-Sharp also brings possibly their best sprinter to Argentina in the form of Tyler Farrar. "Tyler's probably sprinting the best he's ever sprinted in terms of power files so we're confident he's going to pull something off," said McRae. "He has the team behind him."

Also their are rookies taking part in the race, including Nathan Brown, who was a good puncher. He finished 2nd in Liege-Bastogne-Liege U23. "We want to get our young guys through the race," continued McRae. "Some of them, for Phillip Gaimon and Nate Brown, it's their first race with the team, so we'll see how they go but I'm sure they'll be good."

Tour de San Luis contains 3 sprint stages, 3 uphill finishes and a 19.2km individual time trial.

Garmin-Sharp's Tour de San Luis squad:
Janier Acevedo, Nathan Brown, Thomas Danielson, Tyler Farrar, Phillip Gaimon, Benjamin King.
