Enrico Gasparotto is still without a contract for the 2015 season. Now the Italian is being linked with Wanty-Groupe Gobert.
Wanty-Groupe Gobert may be strengthening its links to Italian cycling. After the signing of Marco Marcato and the confirmation that Mirko Selvaggi and Danilo Napolitano will remain with the team, Ciro Scognamiglio from La Gazzetta dello Sport has indicated via Twitter that Enrico Gasparotto could join Jean-François Bourlart's team.
After hos contract with Astana was not renewed, Gasparotto, the winner of the 2012 Amstel Gold Race, has had a surprisingly hard time finding a new team and he is still without a contract for next season. However, the match seems to be a good one as he would be a key asset for Wanty Groupe-Gobert in the Ardennes classics where he could be the leader alongside Bjorn Leukemans and Marco Marcato.
2014 wasn't the best season for Gasparotto but he finished in the top 10 in the Amstel Gold Race and both the Canadian WorldTour races.
