WorldTour Katusha Team rider Gatis Smukulis won the individual time trial of Latvia yesterday. Thus, Smukulis confirmed his title obtained in 2012.
The ITT was held in Smiltene and constituted 40km.
Second place went to Aleksejs Saramotins from IAM Cycling, who lost 28 seconds, while Ervins Smolins took bronze medal, booking a 3’49” loss.
This is Gatis Smukulis’ first victory in the current season, while Katusha Team scored its 19th win in 2013.
