Having recently won two stages of the Tour of Austria, Oscar Gatto will target more success when he lines up as Cannondale leader for the Arctic Race of Norway. The team can also count on an in-form Davide Villella for the hardest stages and Guillaume Boivin for the sprints.
For the first time in its history Cannondale Pro Cycling will attend the Arctic Race of Norway, stages race scheduled from Thursday, August 14, through Sunday, August 17. The course of the second edition, traced across the Arctic circle, includes four stages – two hilly and two flats, for a total distance of 708 km.
Cannondale Pro Cycling will line up five stages hunters who will try to be among the main competitors every day. Oscar Gatto – two stages won at Tour of Austria in 2014 – will be the key rider for the team, while Guillaume Boivin the sprinter in charge to fight in bunch arrivals. Young gun Davide Villella showed good form at Tour de Pologne, as well as the Austrian long-distance-rider Matthias Krizek. Juraj Sagan, recently engaged at the Tour of Utah, will be the fifth and last rider selected.
“We have all we need to be competitive during the entire race” said Stefano Zanatta. “The form is good and I expect a gutsy performance from all the riders. We know there are important riders attending the Arctic Race, but we are ready to do our race”.
