Russian professional Gazprom-RusVelo team will participate in three prestigious Italian one-day classics: Milan-Torino, Gran Piemonte and Il Lombardia.
"We are very excited and are looking forward to it," says Renat Khamidulin, General Manager of the team. "Our great desire to perform in Italy's oldest classics – especially in the legendary Il Lombardia, part of the World Tour calendar – became a reality today.
"At the moment, we are fully focused on preparing for these starts, which are our main objectives for the end of the 2016 racing season, which we want to end on a triumphant note. For Gazprom-RusVelo, after an outstanding performance at the Giro d'Italia, it is extremely important to prove ourselves to the maximum particularly in Italy, where the team is based.
"On behalf of the entire team, I would like to express our huge thanks to the organizers for the opportunity."
The 97th Milan-Torino will take place on September 28. The next day will be the hundredth anniversary start of the Gran Piemonte, while the 110th Il Lombardia will conclude the 2016 Italian racing season.
