Gazprom – RusVelo has announced an agreement with Russian rider Anton Vorobyev. Despite the fact that the roster for the next season was confirmed, the management of Gazprom – RusVelo made a decision to sign a one-year deal with Vorobyev.
Gazprom – RusVelo GM Renat Khamidulin said:
"At this moment Anton is one of the best TT specialists in Russia. He has a lot of potential and we will do everything to develop his strengths. We have ambitious goals for the next season and his experience will help us to reach them."
"I want to thank team’s management for trust in me. Even though the transfer campaign for Gazprom – RusVelo was over, we managed to sign an agreement. The team’s growing and getting better and I’ll do my best to maintain the high pace of team’s improvement," Anton Vorobyev commented.
Anton Vorobyev was born in 1990 in Dmitrov, Russia. As a professional rider he has developed himself in Team Katusha, where he has spent last four seasons. In 2012 he won the U23 World time trial championships. In 2014 he was the best at the Russian TT Nationals. Last year he won two stages of the Circuit Cycliste Sarthe.
