Gazprom – RusVelo has announced а two-year deal with Russian rider Dmitry Kozonchuk.
Kozontchuk is a versatile rider who’ve been playing an important role in assisting leaders during eight seasons in the WorldTour.
"Gazprom – RusVelo has reached another level since 2012 when I spent a season in RusVelo and I am very happy to sign this deal. Next season will be very intense and I hope that I have an opportunity not only to work on the team leaders, but also a chance for personal victory. There are a lot of young and talented riders in the team and I hope my experience can be useful for them," said Dmitry Kozonchuk.
General manager Renat Khamidulin added:
"Dmitry already raced for Rusvelo in 2012 and we are satisfied with his comeback. Kozonchuk is a very experienced rider, he did a great job supporting legends of cycling such as Denis Menchov and Joaquim Rodriguez. We want Dmitry to spread his knowledge and experience to our younger riders and help the team to achieve great results».
Dmitry Kozonchuk was born on 5th of April 1985 in Voronezh. Kozonchuk started his career in Rabobank Continental Team in 2006 and later he joined Rabobank ProTeam. In 2011 he went to Spanish-based Geox-TMC Transformers for one season and in 2012 he moved to RusVelo. Kozonchuk spent seasonson 2013-2016 in Team Katusha where he helped team leaders to achieve their goals at the highest level.
