After a successful 2014 season, Phil Bauhaus left Team Stölting to join the German Pro Continental team Bora-Argon 18 where he wanted to make the next step in his rapid improvement.
After a decent start to the season - Bauhaus was fifth in a stage at the Volta ao Algarve, finished fourth at Nokere Koerse and was fourth in stages of both the Four Days of Dunkirk and the Tour de Picardie - there were no more top results. "I am not satisfied with the 2015 season," Bauhaus told radsport-news.com.
Illness, crashes and mechanicals were primarily responsible for the lack of progress "Unfortunately, I could not train much after an illness so that I could deliver no performance at Rund um Köln and the German Championships," said Bauhaus who had to end the season in August due to a severe viral disease. That also destroyed the hopes of selection for the Worlds in Richmond where the 21-year-old would have liked to do the U23 road race.
Meanwhile, Bauhaus has recovered from the viral disease and for a few days back he has been back in training in order to start 2016 well. "I want to stay healthy and score my first podium or maybe even my first professional victory," the young sprinter said about his objectives.
