Georg Preidler and Lars van der Haar raced to 26th and 31st on a difficult stage 2 of the Skoda-Tour de Luxembourg, as Linus Gerdemann took the double with the stage win and overall lead.
Stage 2 of the Skoda-Tour de Luxembourg went from Ell to Walferdingen and covered 186.3km and nine registered hills. The third day turned out to be a hot and exhausting one.
After a grueling day at the hilly course, Linus Gerdemann (Cult Energy Pro Cycling) out sprinted his fellow escapee Marc de Maar (Team Roompot Oranje Peloton) and won in the streets of Walferdingen. Gerdemann is now the new leader in the general classification.
After the stage coach Addy Engels said: “We entered the finale with a reduced bunch, including Georg [Preidler], Lars [van der Haar] and Carter [Jones]. At one of the hills the race exploded and we were unable to follow the first.”
