Team Giant-Alpecin shows insights on its journey to the Tour de France through a new documentary, “Keep Challenging”. The Tour starts on July 4 in Utrecht, but a group of dedicated riders, coaches and experts have been fine-tuning every detail of the team’s equipment, training, support and logistics in a continuous preparation process that started months ago.

The documentary follows the team behind the scenes from its launch at the French embassy in Berlin, Germany, in the search for new insights, new innovations, new technologies and successes. After the first training camp in Spain, the action moves to the world of aerodynamic testing in the wind tunnel at Magny-Cours, France, a unique place where scientists test a new prototype bike, suit and helmet that will be used in the Tour de France to achieve a new competitive edge. To improve efficiency and find each rider’s personal best position on the bike, ergonomic tests on the time trial bike take place on the velodrome in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. On a desolate polder near Utrecht, The Netherlands, the team tests the aerodynamic effects of accelerating out of the saddle on the new bikes and helmets.

Nothing is left to chance, as the time trial course in the heart of Utrecht, the first stage of the Tour, with its unique finish on Neeltje Jans, as well as the cobbles of northern France for stage 4 are explored. Insights are provided into the work done by trainers and coaches at a high-altitude training camp in Sierra Nevada, Spain, which is the final step in the journey of preparation for the Tour de France.

“Keep Challenging” will run in three episodes and will be broadcast through Team Giant-Alpecin’s social media channels starting on July 1.
