The third edition of the Canadian stage race got underway with a completely flat team time trial of 7.4 km around the city Grande Prairie. The team clocked a time of 23’22”, which was good for a fifth place.
Trek Factory Racing won the Tour of Alberta opener, Bauke Mollema crossed the line first and will be the first leader.
“There are some points of improvement as small mistakes were made during the time trial,” said coach Aike Visbeek. “Also the wind strength wasn’t in our advantage so a better result was probably possible.”
