Giant-Alpecin will have several cards to play in the Vuelta a Andalucia. John Degenkolb will chase success in the sprints while he prepares for the classics while young climbers like Daan Olivier and Lawson Craddock may try to target the overall standings.
Giant-Alpecin have announced their roster which takes place on a mountainous course in Spain from February 18 to 22. The main star will be John Degenkolb who will use the race to gear up for the classics while he will also try to win one of the three sprint stages. He will be supported by his trusted lead-out man Koen De Kort.
For the GC, the team have a number of youngster ready to battle against riders like Chris Froome Alberto Contador and Nairo Quintana. After solid debut season, Lawson Craddock and Daan Olivier will try to shine in the two mountain stages, with the former also likely to be in the mix in the short time trial on the opening day.
Tobias Ludvigsson will try to win the TT while Simon Geschke may be an option for a breakaway on some of the hillier stages. The team is completed by new signing Caleb Fairly who is expected to play the role of loyal domestique.
