Team Giant-Shimano has announced on its website that Dutch rider Brian Bulgac will join the WorldTour team as of 1st May for the rest of the year.
Bulgac, 26, turned pro with Lotto Belisol in 2012 and stayed in WorldTour rank for 2 years. He stepped down to continential level after the end of 2013 season and currently rides for local team Parkhotel Valkenburg CT.
“I am very thankful for the opportunity that Team Giant-Shimano have given me to allow me to return to the WorldTour and to continue progressing at the top level of the sport," said Bulgac.
Bulgac was invited to a team training camp with Giant-Shimano before the season kicked off, and was consequently offered a contract till the end of 2014.
“We see him developing into a rider in the team for the difficult one-day races and also for stage races and we look forward to developing alongside one another,” said Rudi Kemna, coach of Giant-Shimano.
On the very first day of his contract, he will ride the Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt with Giant-Shimano for the first time.
