The course for the 2015 Giro del Trentino - Melinda is starting to take shape. The organizers have announced the route for the opening stage that will be similar to the one that opened the race in 2014.
The race will start on April 21 with a 14.3km team time trial from Riva del Garda to Arco. The course is characterized by long straights and flat roads and has a rather technical finale with several curves. The race will be important for teams that want to prepare for the opening stage of the Giro d'Italia.
Last year BMC's Cadel Evans dominated the race and his BMC team won the opening team time trial.
Organizers GS Alto Garda are still designing the courses for the remaining three stages to try to make it as spectacular as possible. This year the race has merged with one-day race Trofeo Melinda, meaning that one of the stages will incorporate parts of the course for that race.
