After a 6-year absence, André Greipel will return to the only German stage race, Bayern Rundfahrt. With new dates, the German champion plans to ride the race in his home country.
André Greipel plans to return the the Bayern Rundfahrt in 2015. The German champion who has always been riding the Tour of Belgium held at the same time since he joined Lotto Belisol in 2011, will join new Bora-Argon 18 captain Dominik Nerz at the course presentation of the 36th edition of the only German stage race in Nuremberg on Friday. In his only participation in the race in 2009, Greipel won three stages.
In 2015, Bayern Rundfahrt will be held from May 13 to 17 which is earlier than usual. The field will be made up of 19 teams, the organizers announce. The course and the race details will be announced in Nuremberg where the race will again finish.
For the first time, the presentation which will start at 11.00 local time and be attended by Bora team manager Ralph Denk and German Cycling Federation president Rudolf Scharping, will be streamed live on the internet.
