The powerful German sprinter, Andre Greipel, is dreaming on riding both Tour and Giro in 2014, as he tells nieuwsblad.be.
"I'm not afraid of racing two major Grand Tours consecutively." says Greipel. Although, in his career as of today, the German hasn't accomplished the feat yet, as in every year he only attended one Grand Tour, either Giro or Vuelta in his HTC- Columbia days, and Tour in his Lotto career.
Greipel, although competitive in some semi-classics, unlike his long time teammate and arch rival Mark Cavendish, hasn't won a monument yet. The Lotto leader still hopes to win a cobbled classic, though, "I dream of a classic victory in Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne or Ghent-Wevelgem." But in order to prepare better for the two Grand Tours, the German has to alter something, "But, I want to lighten my program in the spring slightly." Last year, he raced Ghent-Wevelgem, Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix, being a domestic in the latter two.
