From contender for the victory to patient at the hospital. Dylan Groenewegen was painfully confronted with the downside of professional cycling in today's Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen. The young sprinter was involved in a big crash in the last 50 meters and was seriously injured. At the Hospital of Roeselare it was revealed that Groenewegen has sustained a fracture to his kneecap of his right leg. As a result, he will miss the U23 Worlds next Friday in Richmond.
