Andrea Guardini again got close to his first win of the yeat when he finishd second behind Sam Bennett in the final stage of the Tour of Qatar.
“From 3k Astana worked very good, but I started my sprint in the last 200m and with the headwind 200m was too early," he said.
Guardini followed a blue train of teammates along Doha’s shoreline on Friday to finish second in a mass sprint on the final day at the Tour of Qatar. Overall Astana Pro Team rider Andrei Grivko finished 10th in General Classification, 41 seconds back from winner Niki Terpstra of the Netherlands.
