This weekend, at the Revolution Series track in Manchester, Gustav Larsson failed to set a new world Hour Record. The Swedish rider rode 50,016 kilometers in one hour, well over two kilometers short of the current mark set by Australian Rohan Dennis (52,491 kilometers).
“Straight after the event I told myself I would never try the Hour Record again, but now, I think with the right training and experience on the track I could try again”, he explained. “Halfway through was the hardest, knowing the same was to come. Setting the Swedish record is good, but it wasn’t my aim.”
Alex Dowsett is the next rider to attempt the men’s Hour Record. The British athlete will try to beat it in April.
