2011 Santos Tour Down Under winner Cameron Meyer will return to the race in 2016 with Team Dimension Data.
Team Dimension Data — previously known as MTN-Qhubeka — became the first African team to race the Tour de France this year and will make their Santos Tour Down Under debut in 2016 to start the season.
Mike Turtur, Race Director, said that it was always nice to welcome a race winner back to the event.
“Cameron’s year started well with an overall win at the 2015 Jayco Herald Sun Tour and we are looking forward to seeing what he brings to our race in 2016,” said Mike Turtur.
Meyer will be joined at the TDU on Team Dimension Data with fellow Aussies Mark Renshaw and Nathan Haas.
In 2007 Renshaw won the Down Under Classic and in 2008 took honours on Stage 1 of the Tour Down Under.
The Santos Tour Down Under line up with Team Dimension Data welcomes back Tyler Farrar to the race. Farrar has taken stage wins at all three Grand Tours throughout his career (Tour de France x 1, Giro d’Italia x 2 and Vuelta a Espana x 3).
