Nathan Haas (Cannondale-Garmin) was given the perfect lead-out by Ramunas Navardauskas in today's stage of the Tour de Romandie but hit the front too early and had to settle for fourth.

"The team rode great today. We're here to be in the race, and we were very much so today. I went too early in the sprint, simple as that. Tomorrow is another day, and I can't wait to make amends," Haas said.

"The bright side is that I was able to pick up the pieces after a huge crash in Liège and haul myself over some tough climbs today. I truly had to fight, but that's what it's all about - the fight!

"With the next two stages for the punchy sprinters and then stages five and six for the overall contenders, there are still plenty of opportunities and lots of excitement ahead."
