The 16th stage is the last transition stage of this Tour. It’s realistic that a rider of a breakaway will triumph in Gap. For today’s stage one spontaneously thinks of Adam Hansen.
“Unfortunately I’m not at my best level because of the shoulder injury, but it’s an appealing stage. A large group will get away in the beginning; if there is no rider in the breakaway who’s dangerous for the GC riders the peloton will let them go," he said. "In the finale the Col de Manse (8.9 km and 5.6% average) will be decisive. Also the technical descent has already been a crucial phase in the past.”
