Jonathan Hivert stepped up one level after joining Belkin Procycling for 2014 season, but apparently an experiment with riding for a WorldTour outfit didn’t turned out to be a successful one for at least one of parties. In such circumstances, the 29-year old Frenchman will become a part of Pro Continental squad again, as he signed one-year contract with Bretagne-Séché Environnement.
Hivert enjoyed his career’s most successful season last year on his way to sign with Belkin, highlighted by a victory in the Etoile de Besseges general classification followed by two stage victories at the Vuelta a Andalucia.
2014 season, however, was nothing like a previous one for the 29-year old Frenchman, who apparently disappointed, decided to take a step backwards and join a Pro Continental outfit again.
"Jonathan is a punchy rider, who has a good record racing on the WorldTour circuit," Emmanuel Hubert, the team's general manager said.
"At home, he will have the opportunity to do what he aspires: to win races. His arrival is consistent with our ambition to make further progress in terms of performance."
Bretagne-Séché Environnement also announced that they extended contracts with their whole Tour de France squad, including team leader Eduardo Sepulveda.
