After a solid first season without any wins at Bretagne-Séché Environnement, Jonathan Hivert intends to do even better in 2016. At 30 years fo age, the former doubale stage winner at the Vuelta a Andalucia relies heavily on the first part of the season

"This year I want to put focus everything on the first part of the season until the month of June," he told Nouvelle Republique. "Furthermore, have asked to participate in lots of races. I want to ride until the Tour of Luxembourg without any break and then take some rest in order to return after a gradual preparation. I will do the French Championships but I will take it as it comes." He admits that participation in the Tour de France is almost impossible with this schedule.

Hivert sees lots of opportinities in the first part of the year.

"The team will start at the Tour de San Luis and the Tour of Gabon, but I will wait for La Marseillaise," he said. "In Argentina and in Gabon, it is not cold at this time of the year so it is not for me. I prefer to concentrate on the races where I know I have the best chances."

After the GP d'Ouverture la Marseillaise which he won in 2010, Hivert will do the Etoile de Bessèges where he triumphed in 2013. Then he will do Le Mediteraneen, the Tour du Haut Var (3rd in 2015), Tour Provence, Classic Sud-Ardeche and Drome Classic. Paris-Nice is also on his schedule if Fortuneo Vital Concept gets a wild card.
