Yauheni Hutarovich is back in the Belarusian champion's jersey after he won today's 2014 road race championships. The Ag2r rider beat Branislau Samoilau (CCC) and Aliaksandr Kuchynski (Katusha) to take his fourth title.
Since joining Ag2r at the start of the 2013 season, Belarusian sprinter Yauheni Hutarovich has had a hard time but now things finally start to look brighter. Earlier this year he took his first victory in his new colours and today he added the victory in the Belarusian road race championships to his palmares.
As one of the only professionals from the country, Hutarovich had already won the race three times in the past and this time he took back the jersey he last won in 2012. He beat two of the team's major names, 2007 champion Branislau Samoilau and 2005, 2010 and 2011 champion Aliaksandr Kuchynski into the minor podium spots.
It is still unclear when he will wear the jersey for the first time as he hasn't been selected for the Tour de France.
Result:
1. Yauheni Hutarovich
2. Branislau Samoilau
3. Aliaksandr Kuchynski
