At just 36 years of age, Bartosz Huzarski officially announced his retirement during the weekend. Having failed to get a new deal with the Bora team, the Pole made his decision, a difficult choice for a rider who had a good Tour de France but was injured during the Vuelta. He abandoned during the tenth stage which made it a sad end to a 13-year career for the former stage winner of the Coppi & Bartali and Settimana Lombarda 2010
Known as anoffensive rider, Huzarski had not won since 2012 when he won a stage Race of Solidarity in Poland. Nevertheless, he plans to stay in the world of cycling, helping the sport to grow in his country but also by feeding his Youtube channel. His wish is to prepare for a future as a sports director in the Bora team where he spent the last six years.
