When Leopold König and Tiago Machado dropped out of GC contention, it seemed that Team NetApp-Endura would not play much of a role in the USA Pro Challenge. However, Bartosz Huzarski has stepped up his level and after doing a great time trial yesterday, he is now poised to finish the race in 7th overall.

Bartosz Huzarski has once again confirmed his outstanding form at the US Pro Challenge. The 33-year old Pole put in a convincing performance with an outstanding seventh place in the 16 km mountain time trial from Vail to the 500 m higher Vail Pass. Tejay van Garderen (BMC Racing) secured the stage victory, meaning he is on the verge of becoming the overall winner. Huzarski took seventh place in the overall rankings a day before the end of the tour as the best NetApp Endura rider.

“That was once again a really strong performance by Bartosz, he gave very clear proof that he’s one of the strongest here. On top of that he was able to move up a place again and is now seventh. Unfortunately, the weather was extremely bad. Tomorrow we only have one task and that’s getting Bartosz safely to the tour finish," said Sport Director Alex Sans Vega, impressed by the performance of his leader.

The US Pro Challenge will end tomorrow after a total of 842 km with a 126 km final stage. The start will be in Boulder from where the route runs via Lookout Mountain to the stage finish in Denver. There the race will most probably end in a sprint after a flat stretch of almost 90 km. Consequently, there will probably be no changes in the overall rankings.
