With less than 48 hours to go before the World Team Time Trial Championships in Richmond, Rik Verbrugghe unveiled the names of the six riders who would be racing the 38.6 km circuit for IAM Cycling.
“Actually, Martin Elmiger remained in Switzerland to be with his wife who is about to give birth to their second child. So we did not have to exclude any rider who was present according to performance in the training sessions.
"Everything in training went well and, as I have already mentioned even before having had a chance to recon the course, we are not here just to be at the start line. Our established goal is to be among the top-10 teams, and all the guys will give their best. We have worked out the details and have done two training sessions on Friday. Today, we really have a feel for the place.
"After having covered the route in the car, I am convinced that this is a very fast course and there will be a very high average speed. But I am equally convinced that we will be very much in the mix on Sunday.”
