IAM was only at the start of the Amstel Gold Race with 6 riders as Thomas Degand and Dries Devenyns were both absent. The latter was expected to be one of three leaders alongside Sylvain Chavanel and Martin Elmiger.

Thomas Degand (28) will not participate for the IAM Cycling team in the Amstel Gold Race scheduled for today. Degand unfortunately is suffering from digestive problems that will prevent him from being at his best for the race.
 
And as for Dries Devenyns (32), he is suffering from severe back pain, and will not be able to accompany his teammates on the roads of the Dutch classic.
