IAM will use the Bayern Rundfahrt as an important preparation for the Tour de France and will line up most of their climbers for the 5-day race. Marcel Wyss, Johann Tschopp, Stefan Denifl and Mathias Frank will animate the harder stages while Heinrich Haussler will focus on the sprints.
His classic campaign finished, with a tentative coup at Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Stefan Denifl took a month break. One week without a bike and then the Austrian took again to his training trails to prepare the stage races, which he enjoys a lot.
To get back to competition at the Tour of Bayern, where he was best climber in 2013, motivated the 26 year old professional even more.
“I had no health issues and I have trained well during these last weeks. I am impatient to be at the start and to be back in a race where competition is high. I studied the race and I have fixed stage 2 as my main objective.
In any case there is a lot to achieve, as we come to the Tour of Bayern with an excellent team. My main goal is to be ready for the Dauphiné Libéré, which will also influence the selection for the Tour de France. And I have not given up the Austrian Championships, which will take place at home in Innsbruck.”
Riders: Stefan Denifl (Aut), Mathias Frank (S), Heinrich Haussler (Aus), Dominic Klemme (All), Roger Kluge (All), Johann Tschopp (S), Marcel Wyss (S).
