Today IAM Cycling will line up in the hilly Brabantse Pijl while tomorrow they will travel to France for the flat Grand Prix de Denain. In today's race the team plans to race aggressively with its climbers Stefan Denifl, Jonathan Fumeaux and Sebastien Reichenbach while sprinter Matteo Pelucchi will be the captain in tomorrow's race.

Matthias Brändle is chomping at the bit after having spent the past fifteen days preparing for the coming busy week racing for IAM Cycling.  Brändle returned home with a feeling of accomplishment after working at the Critérium International where he helped Mathias Frank to win a stage and place 2nd overall. 

Now the Austrian is delighted to be among his teammates again to continue his racing schedule. 

“I trained very well at home.  On Sunday, before I settled down to watch Paris-Roubaix where we didn’t have much luck, I took a long ride.  On Monday I took an easier ride just to spin the legs and then on Tuesday I will join the team to race two totally different events.  Then I’ll follow with the Amstel Gold Race on Sunday.  Nothing beats competition if you want to get into a good rhythm.” 

Matthias Brändle provides lucid analysis when talking about his first two appointments during the week. 

“We have a great team for the two races.  At Flèche Brabançonne we can make use of our tight team work on the hilly course that invites escapes and breakaways. 

"But then at Denain I can well imagine that we will ride hard to help Matteo Pelucchi go for the win.  That course will be more suitable to the sprinters and is a test for the specialists in the final stretch.”
