Jérôme Coppel will not take the start of the second stage of Paris-Nice this morning, which will take the riders from Contres to Commentry.  Suffering from an acute case of sinusitis even before finishing in a strong tenth place during the prologue on Sunday in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, the current time trial champion of France will withdraw because he will be unable to perform to the best of his abilities.

The sports management for the IAM Cycling team, as well as the team doctors, will discuss the date when Coppel can return to competition based on an evaluation of his condition and how it evolves.
