A demonstration of strength in Nommay a week ago has prompted Arnold Jeannesson to revise his goals.  The French climber will target the French cyclo-cross champion’s jersey in Lanarvily, on January 8. 

Cyclo-cross is only a parenthesis during the winter for a rider whose "main activity" remains "the road" but his goo performances during the last weeks are a reminder that the future Fortuneo-Vital Concept rider is still a strong contender in the discipline. In fact, he is now personally covering the costs to do more cyclo-cross in the off-season. After his eleventh place in Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, it is the third place that he took in Nommay which marked his return to the top level.

Obviously his current teammate Clément Venturini retains the status of great favorite for the race for the tricolor jersey but Jeannesson, twice a medalist in the championships, expects to make it hard for him.

"The course of Lanarvily suits me perfectly. I won there twice (2012, 2013) when I beat John Gadret and my closest teammate Francis Mourey,” he told Le Telegramme.  “I will therefore travel to North-Finistère on January 8 with the firm intention of winning as I am convinced that my physical condition allows me to show my intentions.”
