The international cycling union UCI has accepted the application of Cycling Academy for Pro Continental status, the Israeli team has announced on social media.
Cycling Academy has only existed since 2015 and have had a continental license until now. In the first year, the roster included many riders from Israel, but now the team has attracted a lot of foreigners, most notably Dennis Van Winden, Guillaume Boivin and Zak Dempster. The ten riders with a contract for 2017 come from eight different countries.
Cycling Academy hopes to debut in a grand tour in 2018.
