After the dominance of the local riders, a foreign rider finally managed to win a stage in the Vuelta al Tachira. Amore &Vita rider Eugenio Bani came out on top when the fourth stage was deicded in a bunch sprint.
Bani won fair and square, with a small advantage over the Dominican Welling Capellan, and paid back his team for their work in the finale.
Stage 3 winner Yonathan Salinas defended his overall lead and is still equal on time with Jose Mendoza. He faces a tough test in stage 6 which is mostly uphill and includes a mountaintop finish.
