Leonardo Basso will join Trek Segafredo at a training camp in Mallorca at the end of the moenth. The 22-year-old Italian was stagiare with the team last autumn and will now also prepare for the new season with the American team.

According to Basso's current team Brilla, a move to the WorldTour team which has 25 riders under contract, is imminent. 

"Having the confidence that I had last year, I'm happy to again get experience during the training camp in Mallorca. It will help me to prepare myself better for the U23 season. My goal is to do specific training alongside established stars like Fabian Cancellara to improve my condition," Basso says.

Basso was 10th in the Tour of Hainan (2.HC) while riding for Trek.
