Davide Ballerini and Simone Petilli (Unieuro Wilier Trevigiani), Enrico Battaglin (Bardiani CSF), Liam Bertazzo, Mauro Finetto and Jakub Mareczko (Yellow Fluo) are the six riders selected by Davide Cassani to ride for Italy at the Tour de San Luis (19-25 January).

"The national team has to live all year,” Cassani explains “professionals and U23 need to ride together to grow the young talent. Wearing the Azzurri jersey has been and always will be an honor and is a starting point for the athlete who is summoned and called to compete with other talents in the international arena.”

"The Tour de San Luis is for us the first race and I will reveal more riders like Battaglin and Finetto; Bertazzo and Mareczko to win and take Petilli and Ballerini for experience. The call for Mareczko is important. He began his season by winning two consecutive stages in the Vuelta al Tachira; I'm curious to see how he goes in Argentina," he says.
