Quentin Jauregui (Ag2r) continued his fantastic debut season at the pro level when he finished second in stage 2 of the Route du Sud.
"Yesterday I kind of lost my calmness and I jumped in a breakaway," he said. "We were caught just before the line. The guys in the team have fully supported me today and I waited for the sprint. It ended with an uphill finish and I know it suits me well. I think I started the sprint too early, suddenly Coquard passed me. I am young, I still make mistakes. Second, is not too bad but I am here to win. Tomorrow, we will be in the mountains and I will do everything to help Mattéo (Montaguti), Hubert (Dupont) and Pierre (Roger Latour) to acchieve a good GC result."
